Lighting: What's with the shadows on your neck..?
Composition: Why so much white space above you...?
Colours: seem a little flat to me...?
What was the rig/setup used here Chris...? Would be interested to know.

Well done for putting yourself up for it.
Why not try the same shot but use some coloured lights to give some interesting shaddows on the wall and round you neck

i deliberately choose to have the dead space above my head so compositionaly for me its how i wanted it.
i had a metz 45 CL4 to the left and a nikon sb-80 to the right. at ISO200 f5.6
how could i improve the lighting? and get rid of the shadows?

Actually i quite like the space above your head... makes it more interesting methinks.
Maybe you could fix the shadows a bit with 'fill-flash' on photoshop.
