Ca anyone let me know how much it costs to have the sensor on my 50D cleaned and where i could have this done in the Lanarkshire/Glasgow area? How long should this normally take?

I was at the Glasgow meet last night and whilst i thoroughly enjoyed it i was well ****ed off when i noticed two hairs showing on my sensor. I am not quite sure how they got on there as i only have one lens so i never take it off the camera and the hairs were not there until yesterday.
 
Before you go to the time and trouble of getting it cleaned, buy yourself a rocket blower (less than a tenner) and blast them out. It's easy, safe (no contact with the sensor) and, if it's only a couple of hairs, it's virtually guaranteed to work.
 
I bought some swabs from ebay for £4 :thumbs:
 
OR....buy an Arctic Butterfly, which by extreme good fortune I happen to have for sale - see here Yours for 30 quid inc P&P... :)
 
I knew about AJ Johnstone. I was wondering if there were any more. Thanks guys. I might give flash in the pan a call and see if he has any rocket blowers left.
 
Don't think Flash has any left, I got a Rocket Blower last night from Amazon, £7 all in

My local Cameraworld charges £39.99 for sensor cleaning of my 20d, I am about to attempt a self clean as i recieved a clenaing kit with my new 5d... i will report results
 
Just to join this thread here, iv tried numerous times to clean my 5D now, and there are 2-3 really stuck on specs of dirt now that refuse to come off, iv tried eveything, pec pads, dust aid, the lot - the camera has alot of dust bunnies now and needs a proper clean/service, whats my best bet in north wales area people ?

worked an absolute treat. couple of hairs should be no issue. Lock the mirror, turn the cam upsidedown and blow ;)
