Can any one recommend a reasonable web builder or better still a photography website template and most of all a good SEO site that does not use link farms etc

Forget SEO sites. You're wasting your money.

Here's a website we built for Lee Mawdsley, using a CMS called Indexhibit. Extremely customisable if you know how to code a little bit of php and html. But there are many questions to be asked such as are you looking for a flash site or a nice clean XHTML website?

A proper website designer includes all the SEO when building the site, and advises the client on the action they need to take

The thing is though, about 90% of SEO you can do yourself through ensuring your content is up to scratch and is relevant to your site. An RSS feed will help too, and this is where blogging platforms like Wordpress come in handy. Wordpress is something I use all the time for building CMS websites for people, and it's free and highly supported, plus it has lots of photoblog templates available which you are free to customise to your own requirements. Here is another website we've built using Wordpress for an architect school which is image heavy.

You should check out http://www.seochat.com for more info on SEO. I've worked in quite a few SEO roles, so I'd probably consider myself competant, but KayJay is pretty much dead on when he says that 90% of the SEO you can do yourself. It just takes a lot of time and effort.

Your current site looks fine, just redesign the banner, so it fits in better, that;s what I'd do.
