Setting up Canon 7D

Today I have finally bought a Canon 7D that I has being in the planning for some months.

I was just wondering for those other 7D owners if you have any hints or tips about setting up my new camera I would greatly appreciate them.

They might be a bit basic if you're an experienced photographer, but I found them quite useful when moving from a 450D to a 7D.

Why do you think you have to "set it up"? Cameras are meant to work straight from the box, obviously. :shrug:

Thanks for those links. Its helped me change a couple of things in menus that I wouldn't have thought about, they have also helped me learn a couple of things that I wouldn't otherwise thought I needed to know. Thanks again. Now the hard work begins!

Welcome to the club Stephen, the 7D is a brilliant camera and shouldn't be too messed about with. As Neil says, they work well straight from the box. I went from a 550D to the 7D and haven't really had any problems with it. Try it out, have a look at the results and then have a think about what needs "setting up". All I've changed is the sharpness setting 1 notch, set the flash for wireless off camera when I need it and set which autofocus area I need when shooting.
