Shooting Canon 5DII into Macbook Pro?

Apologies if this has been covered..

I want to have a go at a shoot direct into my MacBookPro.

I have CS5, a thunderbolt cable to HDMI and a 5DII.

Is this possible? Anyone had a go?

No idea if it's possible to get the 5D2 to tether shoot into the MBP with CS5 (I assume Photoshop), but I do know you will need to do it via the USB interface...
 
I've done with my 5D Mark 1, but not for a long while.

Canon's EOS Utility (which came on the CD with your camera) allows you to do tethered shooting, as does Adobe Lightroom.
 
I use the 5D2 tethered using the Canon's EOS Ulility via 2 x 5 meter USB cables (one having a booster attached). Easy to set-up in the studio or out on location.

Have discovered that if you tether through LR (I used a 5DII with USB) there is a button on the tab that allows you to shoot from the PC. I would guess you would have to be set up on a tripod. (5 seconds for a RAW file to appear on screen).

I had tried to use an adapter to HDMI/Thunerbolt but it just wasnt having it where the USB fired up straight away. My only concern is that it seems a tad loose and if it comes out and you push it in, Bridge opens/LR opens etc but thats just my settings.

HDMI is for video output only on the 5D2. You can't control the camera using it.
