Grew this beauty on our kitchen window - Opinions on the best of are appreciated.

Beautiful, I much prefer the 1st as the darker lighting brings out the depth of colour in the flower.

As Tina said, the dark background makes the orange more vivid... so my on #1!
I never have any luck with amaryllis, I always get given one at the bulb stage and never see it flower once. I believe they only flower once a year?

Thanks for the input guys.
I wasn't sure if the light through the leaves worked in it's favour or not. I like the darker background too the more I look at it.
I think they do only flower once a year. Wanted to capture it at it's peak too.

I must have been lucky, my brother has spent the last 2 months growing 3 extra long leaves but not flower stalks at all.
