I got out for an hours walkabout yesterday, to look for rotten logs and mushrooms.
I know the DOF doesnt do the thing any justice but I thought it added to the wavelike edges and soft colours.
Any tips on what I could have done to obtain more impact with this shot?

What a wonderful example the colours are really nice and personally I think that the DoF works really well with it it's a shame about the bit that you've cut off the top of the shroom :shrug:

Love colours and the way you've caught the gills and the "edge" of the mushroom. For me the OOF chunk of wood on the right pulls my eye over and away from the main subject. Whether that could have been removed is a diferrent matter though. Nature can be a pain in the backside at times
