I have the canon 75-300 USM MK11 at presnt and am looking to upgrade. I am on a tight budget right now so I am thinking of the Sigma 120-400 APO DG.

At present I have to shoot iat F/6.3 at 300mm to get anything like a sharp shot, how does this compare to the Sigma??? Is the IQ any better?? I know I have the extra 100mm which will come in very handy as I shoot everything at 300mm right now, but I am just wasting my money or not???

I tried a friend's copy on a Nikon and I was surprised by the quality.
A lot better than my Sigma 135-400 and quite comparable, especially at lower shutter speeds, with my ex Sigma 300mm f4 + the 1.4TC (420mm effective)
 
I switched to this lens recently and I found it to be far better than the 75-300mm. I mainly use it hand held for motor racing and I'm pretty chuffed with the results so far :thumbs:
