sigma 120mm-300mm 2.8 d model not dg diffrence ?

hello all !

right i have been looking for a 120-300mm sigma 2.8 i have found one of ebay but its the d model and not the dg can any one tell me the diffrence looked on google but not much found :/ any help ?

i know there is an EX non-DG model, i own one. only difference is a coating on the elements. never really been left wanting by mine. fantastic fast lens.

dont think they made a "D" model? that doesnt exist in sigmas list of terminology..

like i say, ive got the non-DG and its fast, sharp etc. i dont think youll miss the DG to be honest.

Perhaps it's a DG model with the G scratched off?

The seller seems pretty adamant that it's labelled 'D'

The non DG model had the smaller tripod collar fitted; the one on the eBay link has the bigger TS-41 fitted which, although you can buy one after-market, points to this being a DG version. However, I've just run upstairs to look at my non-DG version and it says '120-300mmD' on it. There's your answer!

Cracking lens, BTW, as discussions lend themselves to this fact in the classified section right now...

It's a Non-DG with an upgraded tripod collar I think.

The DG model had a fabric padded hood wheras the non DG model had the leather look hood shown in the picture on that auction.

maybe the D is a nikon thing?

mine has a larger collar with carry handle, not sure if the previous owner replaced it however.
