Hi

I currently own a Nikon D40x with a few lenses like sigma 10-20mm and the 70-200mm 2.8, and really like the Sigma range, but i have been wondering lately whether to possibly `upgrade` my Nikon 18-55 VR for the Sigma 17-70mm HSM.

Does anyone have any experience with both of these lenses and is it worth the upgrade?

2 things i`m liking about the sigma although i`ve yet to try one are the f2.8 aperture (although it quickly stops down when zooming) and the macro ability, can apparently focus with the object right up near the lens @70mm.

Your thoughts please.

Got it, but with the Canon mount.

Very capable lens and great replacement for the Canon kit effort.

Don't do Nikon
sorry

Yes, do it I did the same upgrade when I had a 40x, optically it is a big step forward, it is heavy though............

ah lovely, dont mind heavy, got the 70-200mm already which is pretty weighty, had to put a battery grip on to help me get grip lol:lol:
