Sigma 18-200 f3.5-6.3 DC lens

I haven't used this lens, but looking at the spec It's a little slow at the long end. The Nikon 18-200 is a tad faster at f/5.6.
That said, you don't get miracles from superzooms and it's probably more than usable unless you need excellent performance at the long end - in which case get the Nikon 70-300 instead.

If you want even more range, I think Sigma upgraded this to 18-250 and Tamron make a 18-270 (incredible!)
 
I have been using sigma 18-250 mm since last two years and I can say that it's really a good budget lens. U can really develop your skills with the lens. Results may not look very sharp in camera but once processed it is brilliant. I am very satisfied with this lens and it can take a good rough use. I use it everywhere. The build quality is alright and look really good with your camera, far better than cheap kit lenses. The OS is a real asset with it and depending the iso performance of your camera it will work fine in medium low light conditions (although I prefer canon 50mm 1.8 for low light). Thanks for the replys, when you said, a little slow at the long end. Im guessing that you mean when it's at full zoom? But slow, what do you mean by slow ? Sorry if this sounds dumb.
 
i have this lens in the canon version, it has its limitations in low light, but on the whole its a good value for money walk about lens, and to be honest is rarely off the camera, think i paid £199 for mine off MPB
 
By slow I mean the max aperture (f stop) is large - an f2.8 is 'faster' than a 5.6.
Sometimes the term 'brighter' may be used instead.
