Hi Guys,

I'm helping out by shooting all the events at a friends Indian wedding bar the main wedding event itself. I'm going to be shooting with my Canon 40D and a pair of Yongnuo 568 flashes (one on a stand if required). I was originally planning to use my Tamron 17-50 f2.8 (non VC), but after a lot of field testing I'm not overly impressed with the autofocus speed of the lens itself. I was considering the Sigma 18-35mm which may be short in length (56mm on FF) but has that extra stop as well. I'd probably bring along a 60, 100 or 135mm lens with as well, once I've reviewed all the venues (there are 3) for the most suitable focal length.

Has anyone shot a wedding with the Sigma and have any comments?

I think it will be great for Weddings with a couple of longer primes or a decent zoom. Will be looking into getting this lens for myself soon for travel, landscape, weddings and low light work. Only thing putting me off is the narrow focal range so considering a 17-55 as well.
