This is the first really interesting announcement from CES. It features f/2.8 aperture (first in 180mm macro) and 3x FLD elements. The focus ring seems more generous than some other macro lenses, including Canon 100mms. I am very interested to see the reviews and pricing (well it may be quite expensive)

Now please give us a good fast 18/20mm prime or mega sharp 17-35mm with 77mm filter thread!

I have the older f3.5 version of this (along with the MP-E 65) for my 50D and it's an excellent length for macro. The OS should help a lot but not so sure about the f2.8 ... I very rarely use mine higher than around f8, it's also quite heavy and I can see it being even more so with the faster aperture.

Expect it to be around a grand as well going by the 150mm

Don't forget that it will double as a fast 180mm f/2.8 tele / portrait lens, and by the looks of the focus scale it could be actually usable.

Perhaps it is just a way of saying 'wait a little bit before we actually make some'
 
I'm saving up already! But given that the 150mm OS took almost a year to appear in the shops and it was a good £300 more than the non-OS, I may well need this long to get the money together. I have the old 180mm and have been longing for an OS version for years - the 150mm just isn't long enough for me.
