Sigma 35mm f/1.4 vs Canon f/2.0 IS - experiences?

I am trying to decide between the two. It is for weddings and an odd portrait.
This will be used next to Canon 85mm f/1.8 that I find excellent.
Shallow DOF, nice bokeh, and sharp focus through the frame is what I am after

I noticed canon had gone down to £469 in UK, so that makes the choice harder. I can get Sigma for £510 from DRev or £110 more from Amazon. And I could easily wait till Christmas season if that would make any notable difference.

So what is better, what do you prefer?
And will this effectively replace my Canon 50/1.4?

I'd still want the 50mm.

Of the two I'd take the sigma it looks a real cracker while the canon is just good.

There's something about that Sigma's character...but the Canon could get you out of trouble in very dark situations...difficult choice!

Personally I'd go for the Sigma, it renders beautifully.

Difficult. Canon would suit better for video and is cheaper, sigma is f/1.4 and apparently has no vignette at f/2

I personally wouldn't touch a grey import Sigma lens. Been there and had to send it off for recalibration at my expense. Massive gamble .

AF adjust can get you out of most situations though can't it?

I know they have the new USB dock at £50, so that would do? Unless the lens comes totally out of alignment.
