Sigma lenses and hoods

I have recently bought a used Sigma 100-300mm f4 ready for my 7D purchase and also have a used MKI 70-200mm f2.8 that I use with my Pentax K10D. I have noticed a problem with the 70-200 in that when I put the hood on back to front for storage it does not click into place and the one on the 100-300mm does not lock either way. I am presuming this is wear on either the hood or lens but not sure which, does anyone know if this is a common Sigma problem (looks like it to me) and if so is it the lens or hood (and is there a cheap and cheerful fix .. or will I have to buy a new hood).

Thanks.

I have had two siggy's in the past and must admit, not come across this problem! However, I have had it with a tamron, and a new hood cured it! That is the less costly way, the more expensive problem would obviously be if the front of the lens was worn! The fittings are only plastic, after all! Hope it is just the hood mate!!
