Sigma or Canon 1.4x tc with Siggy lens?

Does it make any difference in IQ?

I currently use a Sigma 120-300 2.8 on a 7D body plus I have Canon 1.4x mkii tc. Now I know this combination works, have used it many times but I was wondering if there is any difference in IQ between the Siggy and Canon TC's when used with a Siggy lens?

Can't quote on the Canon, but I currently have both the Sigma 1.4x EX DG and the Kenko 1.4x DGX, you know what, initial impressions are that the Kenko is noticeably better than the sigma. We're not talking pixel peeping here, but the Kenko gives a much more evenly lit and brighter image and definitely has more pop, whereas the Sigma whilst not crap by any means, just doesn't do it for me, my main crit is that it seems to have too much contrast, (if that's possible) and the Kenko keeps a lot more detail in the shadow areas that's lost by the Sigma, again I think that's due to the brighter image from the Kenko. HTH.

again cant comment on the canon but i have the sigma attached to a 120-300 some days and it handles it like its not there (apart from losing 2.8 obviously)

Thanks guys for the information. The Kenko adds a new dimention to the mix, never really considered it before??

Still would be great to hear someone who has compaired the Sigma to the Canon 1.4x TC's
