Sigma rechipping

Hello everyone,
I have a Sigma 24-70 2.8 (non HSM) that works fine with all Nikons except the D7000.
I've been told that I will have to send it to Sigma for rechipping, as it has lesser digital contacts for it to work with the D7000.
I am based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Any idea where I could send this and how it will cost?

I had a Canon fit lens rechipped by them 10 years ago, when they were only charging £5, which didn't even cover the postage charge back to me!

It cost me £75 for my 70-200mm but that included calibration as well.

i had the same problem, so can give you the info you need, I have a sigma 24-70 exact model as you, the person i bought it off had a d300, and i have a d90 and d300s and when i got the sigma at certain focal lengths the exposure would be really low resulting in dark images, i tried to take pictures at various focal lengths at would seem the `problem`occured at 35mm and 70mm, turns out i needed the `rechip` which sigma kindly done for me @ £40 and the lens now works a treat.

Strange that a d300 should be different than a d300s but there was something different that the lens didnt communicate with in order not to work properly.
