Stunning shot, Love it, the BG colour, the DOF. I even think the colour of the "perch" fits well with the whole image as it echos the birds own colour scheme

Thank you for the comments. Yes it was a pity about the perch but I was more interested in it being a young bird. I am thinking they will have bred that one nearby.
Lots of interesting stuff turning up just now.
There is a bird on territory further up the hill & I am very curious as to what it is but it keeps well hidden. Just hearing the call but when you are supposed to wear two hearing aids I cannot really rely on my ears these days.
I dread the day when I can no longer hear the wee birds singing.:shrug:
