Siskin

I don't normally put images up of birds on the feeder but today I had my first Siskins of the year. They are quite early as last year they didn't arrive until January. Hopefully when they get more used to the garden I will get some shots of them on natural perches.

Awww lucky you David I hope to get some of these this year only ever had them in my garden for one day last year they are a lovely bird and I like to see images of them

I have never heard of a Siskin before, a pretty little thing and makes me wonder is this is how a local road was named Siskin Drive hmmm

A few years back we had over 20 in the garden, you could get really close to them, almost having to remove them from the feeder to refill it

usually have a flock of them at the farm by now - they do love nyger seeds

not seen any so far...last winter they stayed a long time

cost me a ruddy fortune ....
