When is a good time to visit?

I was thinking of going over on or around 19th April- question is - will I see anything worth photographing ( Sigma 150-500mm lens) Long drive from Taunton to Martins Haven

Or should I leave my trip till Summer and go to Bushy Park instead ( Deer) or for the Red Squirrels over on Brownsea Island?

Thanks in advance

Think May/June is the best time, especially if you fancy the puffins.

Thats what I was thinking- I have a free long weekend Fri-Mon inclusive

Les,

It's a bit early to be going now - the Puffins and other sea birds are still on and off the island so you may not see anything at the moment, they only seem to briefly come onland at the moment in the evenings initially.... - it's also still a little early for the bluebells and campion shots too because of the cold weather.

For the best of the seabirds, you're best bet is to go in late May/June or Early July.

Do watch out tho' for the weather - if there's a hint of a Northerly or Easterly wind - it can mean that they won't be able to dock the boat to get people on the island!

HTH
