Skytrain - 1903 style

On my trip to Dusseldorf I managed to get to a place called Wuppertal, this is built on the River Wupper!

Well, a long time ago (over 100 years) they decided to build a skytrain all the way through the town OVER the river. An amazing achievement. Well worth a visit if you're ever in that area....

i really like, those photos.
i wonder if they ever thought of lowering the sky train into the river, and putting a prop on the back. would have saved them building the railway

What a cool monstrosity!! (ok...bad choice of word bearing in mind I don't know how to spell it!)...ugly yet rather funky
