Snake in a bad bad mood

Took a few snake shots but this chap was in o mood for being bothered and was constantly striking at me..making it dificult to get a realy sharp shot

i was just lucky the camera strap was around my neck as it struck the lens twice knocking it out of my hands on the second occasion

I am not surprised using a flash on it. Tbh #1 looks the sharpest but is spoilt by the strong light from the flash and the others look as if you have missed focus on the head. I think using a tripod and trying to use what available light was there might have produced better results. Another option might have been using the flash, but reducing the power output or bouncing it.

No it was just a grumpy snake and it was the first time the owner had angled it in months due to its bad temper...it was almost impossible to get a good focus as it wouldn't stay still for a sec and just wanted to bite everything that moved...we ended up putting it back in its vivarium before it got too stressed
