Love it & love bassets, my sis has a monster of a basset and their expressions are priceless

Lovely capture colours and exposure shot on.

The only thing that bothers me is the way the DOF runs out about an inch from his nose, it is a pity that the brows and head are not all sharp.

Think I would have preferred slightly more dof to get most of his head in focus. That said it's a lovely shot of one of my favourite dogs, I grew up with basset hounds, they have a will I admire in a dog!

EDIT: Beaten to it re the dof by Knikki!
