It's because that's where I should have been standing to take the shot but I left the house later than I had planned

It's a nice shot, I do agree with the comment about the dark foreground...it draws you away from the main subject a little

I think the contrast of the foreground emphasises the subject but it troubles me that it slopes away.

I'd leave it in but rotate the image to make that level.
