Some of the first pictures I've taken whilst in Sydney (day and night)

Hello , I am new to Talk Photography and love everything I've read so far! I am originally from NE England, however I am on a working holiday for the year in Australia, currently staying in Sydney. Below are some of the first Landscape/architecture pictures I've taken with my DSLR and would greatly appreciate any feedback! I've always been interested in photography, however it's recently gone up quite a few levels after my purchase of my first ever DSLR (best thing I've ever bought!), and since then I've been reading anything and everything I can find about photography online, which is how I stumbled across this site. Anyway, enough about me, here's the pics:

Loving the escalators but they need to be sharp.
Did you use a tripod? If so did you use a shutter release?

I do like the second one its as Australian as dingo in a billabong and really captures the moment.
