Some smoke

Firstly, I hope this is the right place for what follows:

I tried my hand at some of those beautiful smoke photos I've seen about. They aren't great but it's a start. Some critique and tips on how to get better shots would be appreciated if possible

The first one looks like a person from behind....well the bottom part does, looks like a bum. Bit of a pointy head though, kinda like a KKK hat. Good stuff though!

I really like the second one. Afraid I can't give you any tips but would like to hear what others have to say. How did you go about getting this?

I like smoke trail shots really but they are something you just have to keep doing and taking shot after shot till you get something interesting.
