Both nice shots although I don't think much of the subject in #1.

#2 is bloody good, though.
 
Agreed - first looks good but the subject just doesnt seem appropriate for me.

Second however looks excellent, great idea well executed:thumb:

Is it real or effect? (just noticing the highlights being reflected in the mirror)
 
yeah the first shot doesn't make for an interesting subject but it's a nice pic, like the reflection. The second one is a better subject but the composition doesn't do it any justice. I think it would look better if it were coming down from the top right corner to show the bloom. It looks odd the way it sits now, and the focus is a tad soft too.

they were taken on canvas that was still wrapped in it's plastic, they are real subjects yes, i personally like the 2nd better and i like the composition of it too, i tried the way jewel suggested but wasn't that impressed, looked more of a clique shot tbh. :)
 
Love the idea, and I agree that the second is the best.

Quite inspiring that :)
 
Prefer the rose but you've clipped out a bit of the reflection.
