Since offloading all my dslr stuff and buying into Fuji's X cameras, there have been very few occasions where I miss a long lens. Today was one of them
Walking the dogs this morning, we saw a white squirrel about 50 m away up a tree. He ( or she) was sitting on a branch in the classic squirrel pose.
I can console myself with the fact that even if I had still got mg D300 with Bigma lens, I would have left them at home!

I have a waterproof point and shoot for theme parks, beaches etc but sometimes there's no substitute for a decent long lens.

Maybe heavy cropping is an option? Many of my shots end up as 100% plus crops and they're fine on screen. Another option is a cheap long lens and a TC. I'm having fun with my 135mm + x2 TC, but of course it means carrying more gear.
