I want to try my hand at some nice coastal landscape work but that isn't going to happen where I live due to the extreme lack of coastline!

I really like the rocky sort of coastal shots that people get - so what's the best direction to head in? Or an exact location that you can recommend?

Obviously I don't mind the travel but don't want anything 100s of miles away :)

Any particular towns have something particularly stunning? :)

I think you have found yourself a pretty hard task for coastal landscapes near to us.
Probably Llandudno and around the Great Orme may have something interesting for you.
Dovedales Stepping Stones is closer to home but not the same effect I admit

Hi

North Wales has been mentioned and must agree.

Anglesey is fascinating too.

The South Wales suggestion is a stormer. The Gower Peninsular is fantastic. EASY run from the Midlands by car. The M5-M4 interchange at Bristol is undergoing a massive amount of work and can be a nightmare. Check before and while travelling by car. The run around is M5-M50-M4 and you miss the £6 Severn Bridges toll. The roadworks will be there all this year I understand.

My Gower favourites are Three Cliffs and Rosili.

The Gower was the first AONB in Wales.
