Hi guys i've been trying to work out which gear set up would be best for shooting field sports, in particular soccer.
My current set up is
7D
300 f4L
1.4x TC
Now based on the resale value of my gear and my alloted budget i have come up with 3 combinations.
Choice 1 = £2889
Canon 1D Mark IV
70-200 2.8 Mark II
1.4x TC
Choice 2 = £2670
Canon 1D Mark III
Canon 7D
70-200 Mark II
300 f4L
1.4 x TC
Choice 3 = £1620
Canon 1D Mark III
Canon 7D
70 -200 2.8 NON IS
300 f4
Which set up would you guys go for?
My idea with set up 1 is that I could use the 1.4TC and get a similar reach I get with the 300f4, but also gain the versatility of having a zoom so that I can pull back when the action gets too close to me. Something I cant do at the moment when shooting with my 300f4.
