This winter is very demanding for the battery life. Yesterday my fully charged battery was drained in just 2 hours.

I am considering getting a backup battery that would stay warm in my pocket (no underpants comments please :nono:).

Is a 3rd party job good enough? Are there any specific ones to look for or avoid? I doesn't have to be perfect, but should allow me to finish the job and do not explode or ruin the camera.

7dayshop

£6 v £80 oro so.......... buy 3 and have plenty of spares!!!

I have never had a problem using either cheap or genuine batteries when there is a "standard" type lens on the camera: Any will give me over a thousand shots without giving out. (I recharge my batteries at the end of the day so am unsure exactly how long they last.)
When I have found a difference is when I use the 600mm lens: Canon batteries will last me over twice as long as the cheapies.

:agree: for the non canon batteries.

I shuddered at buying non manufacturer ones at first but now I live on them.

7dayshop batteries last longer than the genuine Canons & are a shed load cheaper.

I always use Ansmann and they are great. Get more shots out of them as well. Usually get them from Battery Force.

Out of 7 ebay ones I have bought I have only had one dodge one.
Good luck - I am sure all will be well and you have just saved a packet!
