Sparrows and goldfinch

Hi I'm having another go at the garden birds I think I got the focus this time
I've gone to F6.3 and its a better day today as well so getting a bit better (higher) shutter speeds
350D and 70-200 L
sharpened and cropped to 10 by 8 format for printing

Is this the difference between p+s and dslr then?

My images dont seem to be anywhere near as crisp and as good looking as these shots.

Or is it my crap understanding of the camera?

Beautifully done! Love that goldfinch...they always seem to give my garden a miss. (or perhaps they just wait till I'm not looking?)

I did use a tripod but its still fingers crossed to get a sharp shot as they dont stay still for long
I dont know very much about P&S, it is possible to get nice shots on a P&S but think that the SLR with a zoom lens is better for far off subjects like birds

i've just ordered 10 by 8 prints of these 3 from snapfish (jessops) cant wait to see them . I got some shots of Blue tits printed last week am over the moon with them
