Spec for a PC to run CS4?

Yes
My current PC is a Dell P4 2.8ghz with 2gb RAM running XP.

It's getting a bit long in the tooth and can't run the LightMachine plugin in PhotoShop (and has BSOD tendency once a month).

What is a good spec for a PC that can run CS4 easily? A rough idea of processor and video card is what I'm a bit out of touch with. Does Windows 7 support more than 2gb of RAM?

Thanks :)

I'm not sure tbh, google might help more but i'd say 2ghz core duo with 2 gb ram and a decent graphics card should do it :)

Go to the Adobe web site for a full spec. Also bear in mind CS4 will support 64 bit operation under windows. A decent Graphics card is a good idea anyway.

Upgrading you XP beyond 3 Gb is not worth it under XP, Vista gives you more memory allocation

I was in the same position recently and ended up buying a custom Dell Studio PC.
Its quad core 4Gb Ram 2x640Gb Hds and an Nvidia 9800GT 512Mb Graphics card. Works a treat with CS4 and very pleased with it. I thought I got a pretty good deal too, at £750 inc 3 year on site warranty, but without a monitor. All the new GPU functionality works with the Nvidia card.

Thanks for the comments. I'll have a look at Adobe site to look at the specs they recommend.

I'm not a fan of Vista so may wait until Windows 7 is released before upgrading.
