Lucky enough to gain special access to the stones

Backlit with huge torch

do you think the stones are lit enough? I could bring them up PP if needed, plus
what about adding stars in a gradient mask ?

Ta for any input.

I saw someone else add stars to their Stonehenge picture and it looked so, so wrong, not least because the entire origins of the stones are understood to be about celestial alignment and the geography of the image in question was all wrong. My advice, fwiw: don't :)

No harm in a bit of PS work, I'd say you want to start by warming it up a bit then look at softening your highlights and brightening the sky over the top of the stones. The darkness of the stones on the viewer's side is spot on.

I can see what you are trying to achive, but the lighting is way to harsh and cold.

hmm fair comments all, mabe a re-visit would be easier LOL

Main feel correction in ACR
> white balance & levels
Localised adjustments in PS
> feathered mask around highlights: layer > solid colour (black) > blending mode: soft light

Thanks for the input folks, I've kept away from adding stars :)
so, white balance messed with
then a simple dodge on the highlights

so, hows this folks?

tbh i really like the first one, the second just seems a bit wrong, not sure why

I like the first one. But I would like to have seen it from much further back.
