Spider on twig

This (wolf?) spider - a male, was on an apple tree twig in the garden. To try and keep some control over the condtions I snipped the branch off and brought it into the house and held the twig in the top of a mini-tripod,placed black card behind and this is the result. Light is from the window on the right hand side in front of him.

I like this shot.

Like the info on how you set up the shot. Will have to try that myself. Might be worth trying with something like moths. Catch them in a light trap and set something up to photograph them in.

Control the conditions, control thelight. Helps a bit for me... :)
