Spyder2 Driver Initialisation Problem

Hopefully somebody more PC literate may be able to help me solve a problem with drivers for a Spyder2 that I'm trying to use.

I installed the Spyder2Pro software OK but when I plug in the Spyder Windows XP Pro identifies that it's found a new USB device but then tells me that there is an error with it and it might not work.

When I check in device manager it gives me the message :
Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)

I've uninstalled the device, I've uninstalled the drivers via Hardware Manager, I've updated the drivers but to no avail. :shrug:

Hardware Manager is showing 2 entries for the drivers
Windows\system32\WdfCoinstaller01001.dll &
Windows\system32\drivers\spider2.sys

Any help in resolving this would be gratefully received as I'm now stumped and frustrated :'(

Hi,

How did you update the drivers? Did you download them from Colourvision?

You'll need to register an a/c with Colour vision in order to download etc.

I had loads of grief the first time I tried to install my Spyder2Pro.

I'm running version 2.3.5 on Vista X64.

From memory, once the program is installed plug the spyder in and there's an option under Spyder2pro > preferences which brings up a dialog box where it may say no sensor and has a drop down to select the Spyder, see if you can see this.

Once set up mine worked a dream, but it was griefy to get there.

Thanks for the reply, but I've still had no joy.

I got the new drivers from Colorvision.

The dialog box appears and offers me the Spyder2, but then says it can't detect anything.

Oh well, I'll try running it from a laptop I've borrowed, if that works I'll try and transfer the profile to my PC.
 
Did you switch the spyder to another usb port? Perhaps try one on the motherboard rather than an add on if possible.

If that doesn't work, in device manager find the spyder and uninstall it, also uninstall the software

Restart with it unplugged, load the software, start the software and only then plug the spyder in.

They can be a pain at first, but worth the aggro in the long run.
 
Tried all of that and it still refused to work.

Installed it on a laptop instead and did the calibration from there, which worked fine and copied profile onto PC.

Not that I'm using the profile as it just completely ruined the picture on the monitor, it was like looking at a very poor Freeview picture, funny colours and skin looked like plastic.
 
Can you run the software in 32 bit mode?
