That really is a superb image Marianne ... ... and yet again not a sign of a stitch ...

Is that Barry buying you an ice cream far left ... :D

:p

no Ven, he was photographing swans and then I got bored with my cam on a tripod so he had a go taking some shots for a pano and he is now fiddling with his and getting a bit annoyed with PS I think....I did loads of portrait photos and Barry did not too many landscape ones. I guess the more shots the better for a pano!

Excellent pano. Janice.

May one ask the details.

e.g.. number of shots/setup/programme used etc..

Would be grateful as playing with this stuff myself and all help appreciated.

I don't think Janice would know what I did

21 portrait images all resized to 1200px height

all opened in CS3 and then file/automate/photomerge and click ok on the auto setting :)

WHOOOOPS!
SORRY GIRL.

THANKS FOR THE INFO .

LOOKS LIKE WE USE MUCH THE SAME METHOD / EXCEPT THE RESIZING.

DID ONE A WHILE AGO AND HAD MOUNTED PRINT DONE.

15FEET BY 5 INCHES

Oooops! Again just noticed cpas lock.:bonk::bonk::bonk:

Sharkey, what are you on today?? :D

You shouldve stuck with the tea..... and called me Marianne!!

I think my laptop would have simply died if I'd have used 21 full res images!

Lucky me I suppose.:LOL::LOL:

I was OK with 23 portraite images 8.5mb each.

Took 1min 10secs to do in auto PS.

Needed three adjusts. Not Bad!!:clap::clap:

I could do that upstairs on our PC

where do you put such an enormous print then Sharkey? Roll it up and keep it in it's tube? ;)

ignore that...i just re-read your post and see you have a framed print :bonk:

No Seriously!

I am building a space for me + a little bit of 'Nettie' in the loft and the pano is for the long wall.

Hmmmmm just thought. 'Cider & Tennants Super' = BIG Snakebite.

YUMMMMMMMMMMY!

Well, Marianne had all the sunshine ..... 15 minutes of it ;) so I had the nasty weather... it was her project after all....

So, overcoming the lack of luscious light.......

Still looks great! I was stood on that bridge the other day. I only live round the corner from there.

Hello ...... you groover, you!

Where in Cambs do you guys come from?

i'll keep my eyes open for you then as i'm in wyton!

Marianne - in Derbyshire indeed - are you hoping to be a candidate on Big Brother. Was photograhing the swans in St Ives on Tuesday.

What a happy couple! Spending their Sunday's stitching together. ;)

Very interesting pano's. I enjoyed having a look at the close detail, especially the people in the shot. (y)

is that in Derbyshire? :bonk:

lol I'm in the forces and have to leave the wife and kids in Derbyshire during the week while I live in the Mess at RAF Wyton and work at Brampton!

Today I am mostly drinking 'Tennents Trampagne' :D:D

Well Ive just started a bottle of Wrongbow

Yeuch, yeuch and double yeuch.

Get some proper cider down you people.

Aspalls or Thatchers preferably.

Suffolk or Somerset it doesn't matter as long as it isn't full of Aspartame (a neurotoxin dontchaknow)

Thus ends thesermon by the cider police.

BoT.......

Nice panoramas barrianne, managed the distort on perspective well too. Did you use a dedicated head or just busked it?

not sure what either of those are but I'm sure Baz knows what you're on about!

I just used my DX lens Spencer.....

Thanks Gandhi.... no, not a dedicated head, although I'd like to have one! We found it's easier to control the perspective through more shots taken in 'portrait' mode and also not to get tempted to use a wide(r) angle lens. Somewhere around the 40-70mm on a 1.5x crop sensor.

Thanks for your comments.

I have found that the sigma 10-20 is rubbish for panoramas recently.

Only reason I askedi s that I have a little project on the drawing board, gonna make some huge prints, probably 12 images stitches, 2 high by 6 wide, portrait shots.

Looks like the nikon 55mm or 24-120 for me then!

Wonders.......will work lend me a virtual tour head????????????

24-120mm VR lens is a much under-rated item.

The more images you have the better the result..... trouble is, without the right, kit it's so easy to lose sight of where the edge of the frame should overlap when you get toward the end of the sequence ..... :(

Ha ha! Of course they will. The thing is will they loan it to us!
