My one succesful panning shot of a steam engine - the train was travelling at about 65mph (on the mainline near Cholsey, Oxfordshire) and I was standing about 100yards from the line - 1/30sec, c.85mm (Canon 70-200 f/4L), Canon 400d.

great locomotive, britannia class i think, id be tempted to paste in a different sky, this ones too featureless and we've had lots of great skies recently, the engine deserved a better day
 
Thanks - I have a set of Cokin ND grad filters on my shopping list! That will sort out the blown sky. Also, it was hot and a level grade so there isn't a wisp of smoke or steam - quite unusual for a steam loco!
