I bought the Tamron 18-270mm f3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD a few days ago, seemed fine in the shop but later discovered that the zoom is quite stiff & sometimes will stick at the 100 mark, will this stiffness loosen off with use.
I had my eye on two allround lens, the Tamron & the Sigma 18-250mm, i chose the Tamron. From the little knowledge i have these are basically the same lens, was my choice right? Will i be able to get a full refund or exchange. I part-exed my Canon 28-135mm (£140) for the Tamron, the shop is Bonsers (Kodak) in Newcastle.
Even though the lens is quite tight it still has lens creep, this is telling me that the lens might loosen after use. Any info/feedback welcome.

Hi, I had a tamron 18-270 pre pzd the zoom on it was very stiff compared to my father in laws 18-250 tamron! I sold it in the end not because of the action although it was annoying!
My brother has the 18-270 pzd and the action on that is fine!! Hope this helps

my 18-270 was quite 'sticky',but eased up over time, lovin the lens!!

Thanks for the reply Graham, i hope mine does the same.
I did at first have the kit lens & then bought the Canon 70-200mm, got sick of having to change lens. Seen the Canon 28-135mm in Cex in Newcastle & a did part-ex for it. Discovered later that i wanted wider angle so i used my savings (& part-ex) to get the Tamron, loving the range it has & not having to change lens every 5 mins for different shots. I ain't anywhere near being a pro (not sure i ever want to really), i just like to go walkabouts & shoot wahtever catches my eye.
