Stitch big photo from usual shots like panoramic, but 2D

(Sorry if the question is not in the right part of the forum)

My Android camera app has a panoramic photo feature: you take the first shot and then you need to move your camera to the right and then it does another shot and then another and finally it stitches one big horizontally prolonged photo from the three shots.

Is there a way to do the same, but both: horizontally and vertically, so it would create say a 3x3 photo from combining 9 shots, i.e.:

(I have a large oil painting and I need to take its photo with very high resolution, which is way bigger than the resolution of my Android camera).

So does anybody know about an App which is able to do such a thing?

I don't know of an android app to do what you want to do but there are PC programs to do it such as MS ICE

PS welcome back to TP,...do I read your profile correctly......3 posts in 9 years with two of them in 2011 where you mention buying a proper/normal camera but still using a phone ;)
