Beginner strobe light

This might be a silly question but I bought a strobe light from the cheapy shop yesterday as we are having a 40th birthday party this weekend. I was wondering if, after tomorrow (and my hangover) has gone, is there any way I can use the strobe light in photography? Its about 4" x 2" rectangular

Not likely... timing the shutter for a single strobe isn't likely. You could possibly use it with a long SS to to capture multiple images of something in motion...
