Stuck inside - new edits added

I shot it with a remote flash on stand with umbrella inside the house with me outside under an umbrella outside the house! Flash triggered with camera's ir trigger which was a bit limiting as I needed line of sight through window. I'm going to get some radio triggers soon...

Thanks for taking the time to comment guys, I think maybe it was a bit underexposed rather than lacking in contrast as the window frame does look a bit grey.

Is this better?

Have I got too heavy handed with the vignette?

Did you try and make the wee lad stand out in the rain looking in? it would have been better for you camera gear Nice shot Peter and mono suits it.

I'm now thinking it may be better with some colour?

I don't believe I'm going to say this, but I prefer the monochrome shots. I think the first is a very nice image indeed.
