I only tend to shoot babies and children using a collapsible white/black background. Due to the limited space it works well and I can get good results with the little people. However, I've now had a request to do a shoot for a teenage girl and a couple of her mates for some 'funky' poses.

This is out of my comfort zone as I'm not too clued up regarding poses for adults, especially 'funky' ones. I've searched on Google but can't find specific examples of what I'm looking for, does anyone have an idea of where I can find some sort of posing techniques that I could use for teenage girls, bearing in mind I don't have a huge amount of space?

also big sunglasses, bright coloured clothing / accessories are deemed to work well
 
have you thought about googling girls teenage magazines? mylie cyrus (spellcheck) and her gang would probably fit the bill - just a thought :shrug:
 
i couldn't think of her name before but i've remembered it now... avril lavigne is quite funky... are we on the right track there?

Watch America's Next Top Model, get a copy of Vogue magazine, and look through music mags. That should give you enough ideas of poses that teenage girls see around them.

Also, ask them to do something similar and to tear out sheets from mags of poses that they like.
