Hi guys,
I bought a redsnapper tripod a while back (love it), but having never used one I was a bit unsure about the proper way to attach the QR plate and stuff. Sorry, I know it's basic, but I think the only thing (and I mean literally the only thing), to let Redsnapper down are the lack of decent instructions. Other than that, they are SUPERB.
With the QR plate, should it be screwed into the base of my camera as tight as the screw will go, or should there be some give? Should I just use a standard screw driver to screw it in? There's a little spring loaded 'nobbly bit' to the side of the screw too which I don't really know what it does.
Next up, should it be 'side to side' along the base of the camera, or forwards and backwards, if that makes sense?
I had it attached side to side on my gripped D40x, as tight as it will go, and that little nobbly bit caused some dents/marks on the base of the grip. Now I've upgraded to my D300s I'm a bit worried about doing it wrong, and damaging the base of the camera and stuff, so thought I'd come on here and show how completely stupid I am. Sorry!
