Sun Flare photos, anyone?

I sometimes deliberately take pictures with flare in them. I know some people wouldn't but I think the results can look nice. Some of my old film era lenses seem best for it.

Hi, there are two ways of looking at flaring: 1) as a lens performance deficiency and 2) as a creative tool.

If you like, I could show examples of the first here ... ---

Hi, I took this today ... (LEICA M9 - LEICA Elmarit-M 2,8/90 f 8) :

So this can happen. Nothing to worry about. The lens is from 1998. I have around 90 lenses, of which 32 are Leica M mount. I only take flaring pics if the topic arises.

The other day, in LUFI the question came up which 50mm shows least flaring. This made me curious, and I tried my 5 50mm M mount lenses.

To many, this might look like an exercise in advanced esoterics ... ---
