I bought one of these pretty much on impulse at Curry's.

Got it home, stuck it on and it powers up and the test button results in a nice healthy flash but nothing from it when taking a pic.

Now I'm fairly sure its puffed and you are going to tell me to take it back but I have never used a flashgun so just want to make sure I'm not doing anything stupid.

Its mounted on my 40d.

Yes it is sir, did not list my camera on the box but the 30d is there.

Checked online and it is compatible with the 40d

Anyhow, just took it back there and got a refund.
