Decent weather and fast, ridiculously loud racing cars made for a great day at Donington on Sunday. I urge anyone who didn't go this year to go and see Superleague when it comes back next season. The noise alone is worth the ticket price. Anyway, as always, C&C is welcome and encouraged on these shots.

1. Jon Martin of Rangers, who went home 100,000 Euros richer after winning the shootout

Nice shots. I'd never heard of Superleague Formula before the posts here. Was there a decent size crowd there?

Not really, maybe 4 to 5,000 people at a guess. That's more than I expected though. The meeting wasn't advertised anywhere that I saw. If people don't know it is happening they won't go. The fact that Donington is an absolute disgrace at the moment doesn't help. The toilets are like something from the third world, and the circuit looks like an abandoned building site, particularly the infield

I live about 19 miles away so see all the local papers around Leicester, and as you say they never advertise. The big events like MotoGp, BSB and WSBK to name a few will always get the crowds, it's almost like they don't want people there.

Anyway back to your pics, very good and that shoot out certainly makes a good spectacle.

As has been said many times before, you can never get enough of the Historic F1's

9 is superb! What shutter was that at?? Love it :)

Also love the last one! That car is SUPERB!! Overall a stunning set of images that are alll tack sharp.

See you on Saturday?

#9 was shot at 1/80th, handheld. I'm quite pleased with it, although I don't think it would work half as well if there wasn't a big load of dust being kicked up behind the car.

I'll be in London on a stag do all weekend, I'm not at any track now until the Gold Cup.

Thanks for the comments everyone, glad you all seem to like them

Fantastic set of photos Richard. Hard to pick out faves, there all outstanding but I'd go for 6, nice to see multi car shots and 12, just lovely. Also liking 4 and 9 a lot too.

A brilliant set Richard. I do like #9 too. Excellent panning skills. The engine in #11 is very impressive.

I didn't get the point of the shootout. I think the commentry said it was to make it more interesting for the spectators. How long did it last? It wasn't very long anyway, maybe 5 or so laps? This then lead to a long wait for the F1 cars.

Thanks very much everyone, the comments are much appreciated
