These were taken from above on the pier.

I was using the 50 - 250 IS lens and it doesn't get me close enough from the beach although I bought a 2x converter but it only fits the EF lenses.

They look nice and clear! Perhaps experiement with a bit of panning to give an impression of movement? I dont know how well it would work with surfing, but theres only one way to find out
