Non UK Switzerland late October (or other places accessible from Geneva)

I have a flight to Geneva late October. No plans beyond that other than probably spending the week in Switzerland and using the train. Car rental isn't that expensive though, so this is also an option. I will possibly finalise location choice last minute depending on weather.

Where in Switzerland (likely Western side) would you suggest for autumn views?
