:(

RIP Alan Freeman, a legend in his own life time.

I heard just now...he was unique...aww..I can hear the Pick of the Pops music in the background...

sad loss, i remember listening to him for..well since i can remember

RIP

When they first mentioned his name this morning I had no idea who he was, and then when I heard him it all became clear.

Very distinct voice, and certainly a very distinct catchphrase.

A voice and catchphrase that I'm sure was heard by many many people.

RIP Alan Freeman

When I was was a kid I remember asking my dad on his birthday what it was like to be 55 or whatever he was on that day? he replied "You get to know a lot of dead people - that's what it's like"

Now it seems I get to know more dead people all the time these days.

Sad news indeed. :(

Very sad news. He was great - I met him once at a Radio One thing, and to say he was one of the most down-to-earth celebs you could ever wish to meet is an understatement. Sad news indeed.

very sad news, i used to listen to his rock show on a saturday afternoon, and a great show it was too.

In at number 12, it's a pop tastic tribute to the fluffmeister..........not arf
